ClearMind is very excited about the latest addition to our range of premium dealcoholised beverages.

Vandalia Wine is filling a market need for distinguished dealcoholised wines. The 2002 Vandalia Cabernet Sauvignon which is now available in Australia was produced as a limited edition of 400 cases.

The drinking experience with Vandalia Cabernet Sauvignon is remarkably different from other good quality dealcoholised wines. Vandalia really is in a different league. The key to this difference is the exceptional quality of the grapes used and the skill of the winemaker.

From grape selection, to the Winemaker, to the high tech dealcoholisation process, Vandalia Wine provides the experience of a Napa Valley Cabernet without compromising taste, tannins or nose just because it is alcohol free.

Vandalia’s award winning winemaker
Barry Gnekow says:

"It has to taste good... if it doesn't taste good it makes no difference how creative you are." Mr. Gnekow has over 25 years experience and leads the category of Nonalcoholic wines worldwide. He is credited with patents for his novel processes for alcohol removal. Barry has degrees in Biochemistry and Food Science from University of California Davis.

The Process:
The wine flows along a porous cylindrical double membrane. Because the liquid is directed along the membrane, rather than through it, very high pressure and very small pores can be used. Since alcohol and water are the smallest molecules, they pass through the membrane, and flow away into a separate tank. None of the flavour or colour components are removed, only the water and alcohol.

The wine is then filtered between ten and twenty times resulting in a syrupy, flavourful concentrate. Finally, pure, fresh water is mixed back into the concentrate. The result is a superb dealcoholised wine that retains its delicate bouquet and complex flavour but contains only one-half of one percent of alcohol and fifty percent fewer calories than wine with alcohol.
